Lecture in Mexico City
Last 4th of March 2014, Dr. Herrera Pino participated in the First International Congress of Aphasia, which took place under the auspices of the ABC Hospital in Mexico City, Mexico. Dr. Herrera Pino exhibited a remarkable lecture on the Management of the Multicultural Aphasic Patient.

Master of Science Program in Clinical Neuropsychology at the PUCMM
Beginning June of 2013, the Senior Staff of NIM has been involved in providing technical assistance to the School of Continuing Studies of PUCMM in the development of the curriculum for a Master of Science Program in Clinical Neuropsychology open to healthcare professionals of different disciplines. This is the first formal graduate program in Neuropsychology in the Dominican Republic and has raised great expectations in the healthcare establishment in the country. The Senior Staff of NIM will be involved in teaching a number of specialized courses in this program.
The Senior Staff members who have been recruited to teach in the Master of Science Program in Clinical Neuropsychology of PCMM are Carmen Diaz. Ph.D., Francisco Martinez Mesa, M.D., Psy.D., Norella Jubiz Bassi, Ph.D., Gina Salcedo Samper, Psy.D., and Jorge A. Herrera, M.D., Ph.D. The Program Coordinator is Gretel Silvestre Rojas, Ph.D., who will also be involved in teaching and supervision and the International Coordinator is Jorge A. Herrera, M.D., Ph.D. Classes started in January of 2014.

Internship News
On June 30th, 2017, the Clinical Neuropsychology Internship class of 2016-2017 successfully completed their Clinical Neuropsychology Internship requirements. Carolina Raeburn Psy.D. has started her post-doctoral training as Clinical Neuropsychology Resident at the Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami, after having completed all her degree requirements.
The professional staff of the Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami wishes to extend a warm welcome to the Clinical Neuropsychology Internship class of 2017-2018. Teresa Perez, M.S. came from Carlos Albizu University, where she is completing herPsy.D. degree.
Staff Achievements
Nasha Solis, Psy.D., Clinical Neuropsychology Resident of NIM, became a State of Florida Licensed Psychologist in 2015. Good luck to Dr. Solis in her future endeavors!
New Affiliations
During the month of February, 2014, NIM reached an agreement with the Program of Neuropsychoeducation of the Universidad Luis Amigó, in Medellín, Colombia, by means of which students will rotate through NIM with the purpose of learning about assessment and intervention protocols in school neuropsychology.
Publications
The Senior Staff of NIM have finished writing the book Manual for the Neuropsychological Interpretation of the Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children: WISC WISC-R WISC-III WISC-IV. Conversations were held throughout the year with McGraw-Hill (España) for its publication. In the month of November, final conversations were held with McGraw-Hill (España), and the book was accepted for publication. The book has been authored by Jorge A. Herrera, M.D., Ph.D. and Antonio Maceira Gago, Ph.D. of the University of Vigo in Galicia, Spain.
The contributing authors to the book are Soraya Lewis Harb, Ph.D. in the chapter on the characteristics of the instrument, F. Javier Quintero Gutiérrez del Álamo, M.D., Ph.D. in the chapter on attention deficit hyperactivity disorder, Norella Jubiz Bassi, Ph.D. in the chapters on learning disorders and learning disability and intellectual disabilities, Gina Salcedo Samper, Psy.D. in the chapter on traumatic brain injury, Nora Dieguez Herrera, Ph.D. in the chapter on epilepsy and seizure disorders, and Carmen B. Díaz, Ph.D. in the chapter on autism spectrum disorders.
This book has been written is Spanish, allowing clinicians in different fields of psychology, school psychology, clinical psychology, and neuropsychology the opportunity to access up to date information in the clinical interpretation of this widely used psychometric instrument. The expected publication date for this work is fall of 2014.
