The Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami is a private, non-profit, international institute dedicated to the scientific study of brain-behavior relationship. Through its clinical services branch, Neurobehavioral Services, Inc., the Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami provides neuropsychological and psychological evaluation, cognitive rehabilitation, behavioral pain management, verbal supportive psychotherapy and behavior modification services to a variety of patients who present impairments of higher cerebral functions and suffer from conditions such as the sequelae to traumatic brain injury, AIDS related dementia, mild cognitive impairment, dementia related to Alzheimer’s disease, cerebro-vascular dementia and cerebro-vascular accidents, anoxic encephalopathy, multiple sclerosis, attention deficit hyperactivity disorders and developmental disorders.
One of the primary goals of the Neurobehavioral Institute of Miami is to provide relevant training experiences at the undergraduate and graduate practicum, as well as the doctoral internship levels. Practicum students and clinical neuropsychology doctoral interns are provided a situation in which clinical experience, didactic training, and ongoing research components integrate to produce state-of-the-art, individualized, and sensitive patient care. Training procedures emphasize mentoring and graduated responsibility, in the context of neuropsychological evaluation, intervention, and outcome assessment.
